On September 1, a Navy official who arrived by boat from Guam to Tinian for port construction was found to be positive by quarantine when he entered the island. Currently, it is isolated at a government-designated facility in Saipan. Persons who may have contact with the infected person are also quarantined.
As a result, the total number of people infected in the Northern Mariana Islands reached 57. However, the local situation is calm because it is not a community-acquired infection.

HOT Festival Tinian Hot Pepper Festival!
This is a rare "chili pepper festival" held on Tinian Island, where the Tinian pepper, which is said to be the hottest in the world, is grown.
There are also food stalls using chili peppers and a chili pepper eating contest!
A ferry will be operated between Saipan and Tinian in conjunction with the event.
