The Mariana Tourism Board, which holds various events with May as "Tourism Month", will hold a 5km "Walk for Tourism" in Saipan on Saturday, May 22nd. More than 200 citizens participated, and the people who participated in the walk in the image of tourists were commended.
It started at 7am, but after 6am, participants started to gather, and the first 100 people who registered for participation were presented with special T-shirts.
It was an opportunity for participants to reconsider what tourism means to Mariana and its importance, and to raise awareness together for the gradual revival of the tourism industry.
The Government of the Northern Mariana Islands announced on May 17 that it will partially relax restrictions and measures on the entry of vaccinated persons into the Northern Mariana Islands.
If you are a traveler from a travel advisory level 1 country / area announced by the CDC (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention) and you are presented with a formal vaccination certificate, you will be exempt from PCR testing on the day of arrival and will be infected. If it is determined that the accommodation (hotel or home) is okay from a preventive point of view, the current 5-day forced quarantine at a government-designated facility is not applicable.
At this time, Japan is classified as alert level 3, so PCR tests on the 1st and 5th days of arrival are mandatory regardless of whether or not you have a vaccination certificate. However, if the first test is negative and the place of stay is judged to be okay, the 5-day forced quarantine is not applicable and will be voluntary quarantine.

Mariana in May is "Tourism Month"
On May 18th, a student beach cleanup activity took place on Rota Island.
Nineteen junior and senior high school students picked up about 56 kg of trash at Teteto Beach and Guata Beach and learned the importance of keeping their oceans clean and that this nature is their property.
Based on the basic philosophy that "the tourism industry is everyone's business," the islanders are working together to beautify the island in preparation for the coming resumption of tourism.
Also, if you can easily travel abroad, how about worcation in a place like this paradise?
Saipan has an environment where you can enjoy both work and play.

Island vaccination rate 54%, alert level to the lowest level 1
In the Northern Mariana Islands, the first vaccine flight arrived from the continental United States last December. Vaccination has been started with priority given to healthcare workers and the elderly with underlying illnesses, and so far, a total of 20,410 islanders and 54% of those who have been vaccinated have completed two vaccinations. (As of May 10)
We would also like to inform you that the Northern Mariana Islands are currently classified as the lowest alert level 1 "to pay normal attention" among the corona alert levels (4 levels) set by the US Department of State.
Vaccination against COVID-19 in Mariana is on track.
In Japan, the third state of emergency was declared mainly in Tokyo from the 25th, but Mariana is steadily inoculating islanders for the early acquisition of herd immunity. As of today, more than 20,000 islanders have already completed the first vaccination, and the number of people who have completed the second vaccination is approaching 16,000.
I hope you will be able to travel between Japan and Saipan as soon as possible.
Everyone, let's contain the spread of infection in the GW period with short-term concentration!
Did you know that the "Saipan Coral Spawning Observation Project" by volunteer local diving instructors has been held in Saipan since the summer of 2020 last year?
On coral reefs, it is known that stony corals spawn all at once on the night near the full moon in early summer. It is presumed that the eggs and sperms born from each coral meet with each other with the highest probability, so it is presumed that they are spawning at about the same time, and the spawning scene is said to be very mysterious. ..
And since it is a very interesting project, I would like many people to know it.
