On the day of the event, the Memorial Plaza is for bereaved families only.
Open to the public after 3pm.
At night, a blue light is emitted in a straight line high in the sky where the twin tower buildings existed.
The Empire State Building, One World Trade Center and Penn Station are all lit up in blue.

Prayers are offered to the deceased and their bereaved families from all over the world.

The "9/11 Memorial Museum" has been closed due to a drastic decrease in visitors due to the prolonged corona.
The artifacts on display will be moved to the New York State Museum.
