<Hip Hop Exhibition at Brooklyn Borough Hall>
February is Black History Month⭐︎
Hip-hop culture was born in the South Bronx 52 years ago.
From the streets of Brooklyn in the 90s, the brand has grown significantly, revealing key moments and behind-the-scenes stories.
Through the lenses of Brooklyn photographers documenting the moment
Brooklyn's Finest Legends in Focus
I attended the opening ceremony.
Starting with the Black National Anthem "Lift Every Voice and Sing"
DJ, live performance, dance,
I also got to hear valuable stories from the former editor-in-chief of Honey Magazine and VIBE magazine.
It opened with great fanfare as not just an exhibition but a place for the community.
The hall features a mural of Brooklyn-born legendary "King of New York" Notorious B.I.G.
XXL, a hip-hop magazine that was selling explosively at the time, imitated the jazz song "Great Day in Harlem" (1958)
In 1998
"Greatest Day in Hip-Hop" was filmed gathering over 100 famous rappers in Harlem.
Also Jay-Z
Foxy Brown, Old Dirty Bastard, Busta Rhymes, Lil' Kimura, Kim
MOP
Big Daddy Kane Fab Five Freddy
80s-90s youth fashion, subway scene, block parties, etc.
You can see the history of hip-hop, from the streets of Brooklyn to the stage for a global movement.
Free at Brooklyn Borough Hall until the end of February Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM to 4:30 PM

<New York subway to go $3 starting January 4, 2026>
The 24-hour nonstop service of New Yorkers,
Subway (subway).
From January 4th (Sunday) of the new year
It came to $3.
This is the third price increase in the last 10 years.
In 2015, it was raised from $2.50 to $2.75.
Eight years from now, in 2023, it will reach $2.90.
And now it's down to $3 in just three years.
But it's a flat rate, so no matter how far you go or how long you ride, it's only $3!
Together,
32 years since its introduction in 1993
The yellow MetroCard, which served as a symbol of New York, was discontinued at the end of last year.
The contactless Tap & Go style has already been in place since 2019
It has been unified into the "OMNY system," which looks like an iPad.
(*MetroCards that are still valid can still be used until an announcement is made that they will no longer be valid, but since the vending machines no longer exist, you cannot load money onto them.)
The yellow MetroCard was replaced by
The simple black and white "OMNY Card" (right in the photo below)
It can be purchased from vending machines,
You don't have to buy that card
It's convenient because you can use it by simply holding up your credit card or smartphone, which has a WiFi-like mark and allows contactless payments.
No pre-registration or anything is required.
Just come to New York and hold it up.
So, in NY
Please be sure to bring your credit card with you, or your smartphone, which has a Wi-Fi-like mark on it.
