A cougar warning was issued throughout the town of Banff.
A cougar is a large carnivorous beast, also known as a mountain lion. There are many cases where people were attacked and died.
On January 9th, a person walking a dog in Banff discovered a cougar. Moreover, it is said that the cougar acted intimidatingly to humans. This would have been scary ~
In addition, Parks Canada's Wildlife Conservation Officer found and removed the cougar's hidden prey in the yard of a residential area just two blocks from downtown.
Many years ago, there was an incident where a cougar was storing prey under the veranda of a residential area on the outskirts of Banff, but it's surprising that it's two blocks from downtown.
Even now, reports of encounters with cougars continue, and cougar warnings are currently being issued in the town of Banff. The contents are as follows.
Travel in groups and keep everyone together.
Pay particular attention to trips at dawn and dusk, when wildlife is most active.
If you are cycling or jogging, move slowly and do not wear earphones.
Make a noise to warn cougars and other potentially dangerous wildlife of your presence.
Take your bare spray in a location that is easily accessible.
Always connect your dog to the leash and let the dog walk during the day.
If you see or smell dead animals, leave the area.
If you encounter a cougar, slowly retreat. Never run or pretend to be dead.
Hold your arm or object over your head to make it look bigger.
Let's pick up the little child right away.
If you show the pretense that the cougar will attack. Scream, swing sticks, and throw rocks to thwart attacks.

Lake Louise and Moraine Lake are the two most popular Canadian Rockies viewpoints. However, due to the limited parking lot, it is not possible to secure a space to park the car unless you go out early in the morning. Visiting by rental car is quite difficult.
There is a shuttle bus from Banff, but the shuttle bus in the summer of 2021 will change to a reservation system.
