Sun Moon Lake, located in Yuchi Township, Nantou County, central Taiwan, is a very beautiful alpine lake. It was named Sun Moon Lake because it looks like the sun on the east side and the moon on the west side of Lalu Island.
Surrounded by mountains and abundant in water, this land changes its appearance depending on the season, weather, and time of day and shows various faces. The beauty of nature is one of the eight scenic spots in Taiwan.
Around the lake, there is the Nigetsutan Kantan Public Road where you can take a walk and cycle. Approximately 400m from the water company to the Xiangshan Visitor Center has a route on the lake, which is especially wonderfully recommended.
Besides cycling, you can also board a boat or take the ropeway to see the lake from above.
At the surrounding restaurants, you can enjoy stir-fried wild boar meat, wild boar meat, venison-based mountain dishes, and indigenous dishes that are rarely seen in Taipei.

Illumination events for Christmas and New Year's Eve are now starting in each city. This time, I visited an event held in Banqiao, New Taipei City.
Since this year is the 10th anniversary of the event, it will be a special event in collaboration with Disney called "Disney Fairy Tales fairy tales", and it is crowded with many people every day.
The most popular are the Cheshire Cat objects that appear in the central Christmas tree and Alice in Wonderland. By the way, it is said that the number of objects and exhibits installed is 48, which is the largest in history.
In addition, there are eight tunnels of light that are surrounded by 360-degree light, which is popular for photography every year.
The venue is a very large area, centered on the New Taipei City Government and in front of Fuchu Station.

Currently, an exhibition event of chrysanthemum flowers called [2020 Shilin Government House Chrysanthemum Exhibition Yagiku Doyu] is being held at the Shilin Government House in the northern part of Taipei City.

The [Longten Bridge] in Miaoli, central Taiwan was originally a brick arch bridge built in 1908 when the Taiwan Governor's Office Railway opened the entire Western Trunk Line (later the Taichung Line).
After that, the iron bridge and Longxi Bridge in Saga collapsed due to a large earthquake that occurred in central Taiwan on April 21, 1935. After the earthquake, a new bridge was built on the west side.
Over time, the 1999 Chi-Chi earthquake struck, and the area was further damaged and partly collapsed. You can still protect and observe the situation as a "921 earthquake memorial".
