What is "Japan-Hawaii Safe Travel Measures"?
The "Japan-Hawaii Safe Travel Measures" announced by the Government of Japan this time was carried out by travelers before entering Japan, in addition to the screening when entering Japan, as well as the PCR test conducted before entering Japan, in order to prevent the spread of the new corona infection. The Hawaii state government and the tourism industry have recommended a travel agreement “Travel Bubble” between countries and regions with low infection rates such as Hawaii and Japan.

ハワイ州は、アメリカ合衆国では唯一、日本がこの往来再開プログラムの対象としている州です。その他には、中国、韓国、台湾とヨーロッパの主要国を含む12ヵ国・地域があげられています。日程などの詳細は明らかにされていません。

この発表を受けて、昨日ハワイのイゲ州知事がコメントしました。（以下イゲ州知事のコメント）

「ハワイ州を代表して、安倍総理大臣と日本政府が、ハワイを安全で信頼できる海外旅行先として検討してくださったことを光栄に思い感謝します。…日本とハワイは長年にわたる文化的な繋がりがあり、その友好関係は世代を超えて引き継がれ深められてきました。日本とハワイ間の渡航が可能になることは重要であり、新型コロナの感染拡大を防ぎながらこの計画を可能にする方法はあると思っています」

「日本-ハワイ間の安全旅行対策」とは？
今回日本政府が発表した「日本-ハワイ間の安全旅行対策」は、新型コロナの感染拡大防止対策に伴い、旅行者は日本への入国の際の審査に加えて、渡航前に行ったPCR検査の陰性結果の提示を必要とされます。

ハワイ州政府や観光業界は、ハワイと日本など低い感染率を保っている国や地域間の旅行協定「トラベルバブル」を推奨していました。
