The Museum of Anthropology (MOA) building at the University of British Columbia (UBC) in Vancouver has a modern design that combines glass and concrete, but has been refurbished to meet current seismic standards. The large hall will be dismantled and rebuilt with the latest seismic isolation technology.
The Anthropology Museum is famous for its exhibition of indigenous art. Designed by renowned Canadian architect Arthur Erickson, it was completed in 1976. From the large hall lined with totem poles, you can see the garden that resembles an indigenous village. The museum will be open during the renovation, but construction is scheduled to be completed in the summer of 2022.
