6,675 individuals remain infected with Covid-19 in Georgia as of today.
17,850 tests have been conducted in the past 24 hours around the country.
10,718 of the 17,850 tests were rapid tests, while the remaining 7,132 were PCR tests.
Georgia has had 256,287 cases of coronavirus since February 2020.

Tbilisi has been named among the 2021 Best European Christmas Market destinations in a public poll held by the European Best Destination organization, with the city to be promoted throughout the next year to travelers. The top 20 list showcases the Georgian capital among locations such as Basel, Dresden and Edinburgh, following the results of the EBD poll that saw over 100,000 people from 121 countries cast their choices. Sitting at No. 9 in the list, Tbilisi brings the background of being picked among the Best European Destinations and also voted one of the safest spots in Europe among the coronavirus pandemic, the profile in the ranking explains. Tbilisi must be at the top of your wishlist for Christmas. Christmas markets are held almost in every corner of the capital city, where local entrepreneurs and start-ups sell their handicrafts, souvenirs, Christmas treats, Georgian candies, yummy street food and mulled wine," the EBD summary says.

The Georgian government expects to have vaccinated 60% of the country by the end of 2021, Georgian Prime Minister Giorgi Gakharia announced at today's government meeting. Gakharia said that high risk groups will be vaccinated at the first stage. These will be medical workers, residents in long-term care facilities, our seniors over the age of 75 and then all of our fellow citizens over the age of 65 to 75.
Georgia already announced its goal on this platform five-six months ago, to supply half a million vaccines to the country in the near future. We have already made payment. The main goal now is to get the healthcare system ready for this volume of vaccinations within a year.
Gakharia also said that the government continues negotiations with Covid-19 vaccine producing companies, 'but we must keep in mind one thing - only vaccines that will be authorized by the World Health Organization will be imported to Georgia'.

Several coronavirus-related restrictions will be lifted in Georgia in February and in March, following a plan approved at today's Interagency Coordination Council meeting.
Georgian Infrastructure Minister and the first Deputy Prime Minister said that since there are signs of an easing of the epidemiological situation in some regions of Georgia, there is also the possibility of lifting several restrictions.
February 1: Municipal transport, schools, shops and shopping centers will resume in Batumi, Zugdidi, Gori, Poti and Telavi.
Shops and shopping centers will be opened in Tbilisi, Kutaisi and Rustavi.
In the Adjara region it will be permitted to receive guests in open spaces and open food facilities, however restrictions on weddings, various social events or parties are still in force.
February 15:
Open and closed markets will be opened in all cities of Georgia.
March 1:Operations of schools, kindergartens and vocational and higher education institutions are planned to resumed

International flights will resume in Georgia starting February 1, announces Georgian Economy Minister Natia Turnava, stating that all airline companies that have already operated or plan to enter the country's aviation market in the future will be able to operate regular flights.
Georgian government is taking into account the fact that more and more people are being vaccinated in the world, including countries that are 'attractive to us for tourism, such as Israel, the Persian Gulf countries and the EU countries.

Georgia has reported 298 new cases of coronavirus, 1,311 recoveries and 16 deaths in the past 24 hours.
7,323 individuals remain infected with Covid-19 in Georgia as of today.
6,868 tests have been conducted in the past 24 hours around the country.
2,686 of the 6,868 tests were rapid tests, while the remaining 4,182 were PCR tests.
Georgia has had 253,816 cases of coronavirus since February 2020.
3,223 patients are undergoing treatment in hospitals as of today. 706 of the 3,223 patients are in critical condition. 195 of the 706 critical patients are on artificial ventilation.
More than 2, 105,000 tests have been conducted in Georgia so far.
18,709 individuals are in self-isolation.

Georgia has imposed further restrictions to curb the spread of the coronavirus in the country.
The restrictions that will be in effect between November 28 and January 31 are as follows:
An effective curfew will be in force between the hours of 21:00 and 05:00. Restaurants and other food facilities will fully move to takeaway services which includes takeaway, delivery and drive. Fitness clubs, swimming pools will be closed. All conferences, trainings, cultural and entertaining events will be held online. Sports, arts and cultural activities will not be allowed. Regular intercity transport - railway, bus, marshrutkas will not be available. The restriction will not apply to taxis and cars. Open and closed markets will not work. Only agrarian markets will continue to function. Schools, vocational schools and higher education institutions (except medical education programs) will be fully switched to online studies. Private and public kindergartens will not work.

Georgia has reported 1,550 new cases of coronavirus, 494 recoveries and 15 deaths in the past 24 hours.
As of today 11,336 individuals are infected with Covid-19 in Georgia.
In total 17,398 tests have been conducted in the past 24 hours around the country of which 12,166 were antigen tests and 5,232 were PCR tests.

Georgia has had 249,465 cases of coronavirus since February 2020, while the number of recoveries has reached to 235,130 and the number of deaths are 2,973.

In total 3,656 patients are undergoing treatment in hospitals as of today of which 775 are in critical condition. 217 patients are on artificial ventilation.

Safety measures

Tents will be set up on the Batumi Boulevard where tourists and locals will be able to undergo voluntary coronavirus testing, announces Head of the National Disease Control Centre (NCDC) Amiran Gamkrelidze.
Gamkrelidze also said that the number of nightclubs, bungalows and staff working there will be determined in the Adjara region, mainly in Kobuleti and Batumi in order to start mandatory testing from tomorrow.
He said that the fact that five people are infected with Covid-19 from the Club Havana in Kobuleti is 'worthy of attention' and that in general 'we need to be more attentive'.
The tourism season is in the active phase in Adjara and in other attractive regions of Georgia. Of course we should take preventive measures everywhere. Using face masks, maintaining distance, washing hands and avoiding large gathering places – all these requirements remain in force of course", Gamkrelidze said.

Villages in Mestia municipality which have been under lockdown will open starting August 21, except the village of Lenjeri and the small town of Mestia – the administrative center of the municipality.

In these two areas, coronavirus tests will be conducted intensively and the decision to open these areas will be made based on the epidemiological situation.

As of now, thermal screening has been conducted for more than 400 people in the Mestia municipality, said Deputy Governor of Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti, Nino Vibliani. She noted that more than 700 people are quarantined as of now.

Quarantine will come to an end on August 21 for people who have been placed under quarantine for the first time since the municipality has been placed on lockdown

Georgia has reported nine new cases of the coronavirus earlier today.
In total 6,903 people are in quarantine. 17 people have died of the virus in the country, and 41 citizens of Georgia have been transported home from abroad for treatment.
Four new patients contracted the virus from the Lenjeri village of Mestia municipality, three cases were ‘imported’ of which one is a truck driver. One new patient is medical staff and the source of infections has not been identified in the remaining one case.
Since February 26, 2020 Georgia has had 1,370 cases of the coronavirus.
