Georgia has reported 10 new cases of the corona virus earlier today.
The medical director of Tbilisi Infectious Disease Hospital Marina Ezugbaia said that one of the new patients is a medical staff.
In total 7,597 people are in quarantine. 17 people have died of the virus in the country, and 41 citizens of Georgia have been transported home from abroad for treatment.
Since February 26, 2020 Georgia has had 1,351 cases of the corona virus.
To note, mass thermo screening started in Mestia municipality, in western Georgia today, which has been under lock down since August 10.
Deputy Governor of Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti, Nino Vibliani said that only individuals who have had direct contact with the infected patients and have pronounced signs of the Covid-19 will undergo PCR testing.
Vibliani said that the result of yesterday's PCR tests were all negative

Regular international flights will not resume in Georgia until October 1, announces the Georgian Civil Aviation Agency, however Paris, Riga and Munich will be exceptions.
As the situation in the aviation sector is difficult to predict due to the Covid-19 pandemic at the global level, decisions on border and passenger restrictions are periodically changed. We urge citizens and passengers again to refrain from purchasing tickets for uncertified destinations and flights", says the agency.
Georgian Economy Minister Natia Turnava said that restoring more international flights after the first arrivals since the lock down earlier this month will depend on the situation concerning the pandemic in Georgia.
Georgia has opened its borders for travelers from Germany, France, Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia unconditionally. All five countries have also opened borders for Georgia

Mestia municipality in western Georgia, one of the most visited tourist attractions in the country, has been placed on lock down as 16 people have tested positive in the past two days in the municipality for the corona virus.
People will not be able to enter or leave the municipality without the police’s consent.
Tourists who are now in the municipality will be placed under quarantine in hotels where they are currently located or will be transported to other quarantine zones.
All individuals who will leave the municipality with the police’s consent have to spend two weeks under quarantine.
The town of Mestia and the villages of Ushguli and Lenjeri in Mestia municipality will face stricter restrictions.
The inhabitants of the areas will not be able to move to other locations of Mestia municipality.
Only pharmacies, banks and markets will remain open in the town of Mestia and the villages of Ushguli and Lenjeri.

Georgia has reported 25 new cases of the corona virus earlier today, bringing the total number of cases to 1,250.
1,010 of the 1,250 patients have recovered, while 17 others have died.
As of today 223 individuals remain infected with COVID-19 in Georgia who tested positive for the corona virus in the country.
16 of the 21 new patients had contact with infected individuals, five cases are imported, one is from Gachiani settlement of Gardabani municipality, one is a medical personnel, one patient was transported from Georgia’s Russian-occupied Abkhazia region, while the remaining one patient does not know how he contacted the virus.

Flights between Georgian capital city of Tbilisi and Latvian capital of Riga will resume on August 5, announces the Ministry of Economy of Georgia.
Flights will be carried out by the flag carrier of Latvia, airBaltic.
Georgian Economy Minister Natia Turnava said that Georgian citizens will be able to visit the Baltic states, and that visitors from Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia will be able to travel to Georgia as well.
Turnava also said that the flights will be carried out only once a week due to the epidemiological situation while from August 20, flight frequency will be increased to two flights in a week.
Tbilisi-Paris and Tbilisi-Munich are also scheduled to resume in August.
Air France will carry out two flights a week starting early August from Paris Charles de Gaulle and Tbilisi International Airports and German airline Lufthansa will carry out flights two times a week, linking Tbilisi and Munich.

Georgia has reported eight new cases of the corona virus earlier today.
Four of the eight new cases are imported (two of the four are truck drivers), one is a medical personnel, one is from Lilo open market in Tbilisi, one is from Gachiani settlement of Gardabani municipality,while the remaining one does not know how he contracted the virus.
Last week Georgia reported 24 new cases of the corona virus which was the highest figure since June.
However, the figures are going down again.
Kharajalari village in Gardabani municipality remains in lock down.
Vendors of Lilo open market, where many Gardabani inhabitants are employed, have been tested for the corona virus.
The government is monitoring all open markets around the country to prevent the further spread of the corona virus.
Georgia has had 1,145 cases of the corona virus since February 26, 2020.
927 of the 1,145 patients have recovered, while 16 others have died.
As of today 202 people remain infected with COVID 19.

Georgia has reported 12 new cases of the Corona virus earlier today, bringing the total number of cases to 1,058.
911 of the 1,058 patients have recovered, while 16 others have died.
In addition, Georgia is on a list of countries to enter the European Union as of July 1. Chikovani said that the government of Georgia is currently negotiating with other EU member states as to the further opening of the country’s borders.

The government of Georgia is also negotiating with international airline companies to resume direct flights in Georgia. So far an agreement has been reached with Lufthansa which will start flights between Munich and Tbilisi starting August.

Georgian government have been eased restrictions throughout Georgia.
All public transport—including the metro—has resumed service, though passengers are required to wear face masks. Intercity trains have also resumed service.
Assembly of persons in one location up to a maximum of 10 people is now permitted;
Restaurants are now able to operate both indoor and outdoor seating. Customers in restaurants are required to wear masks and maintain social distancing measures, and a maximum of six people are allowed at one table.
All retail and wholesale shops, including malls and currency exchanges, are now open.
Hotels may resume operations after inspection and permission from the Ministry of Health.

For today Georgia has reported five new cases of the coronavirus earlier today, bringing the total number of cases to 968.
844 of the 968 patients have recovered, while 15 others have died.
As of today 109 people remain infected with COVID-19 in Georgia.
Georgia has decided to open borders unconditionally for Germany, France, Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia from August.
All five countries have also opened borders for Georgia.
Citizens / residents of the above mentioned five countries will be able to visit Georgia only by direct flight.
Before crossing the Georgian border, they must fill out a specially designed electronic form in which they must indicate their travel history of the previous 14 days before entering Georgia and where he/she is going to stay in the country.
