Hurricane Melissa continues to maintain its Category 5 strength, causing power outages, water outages, and cuts to communication and gas networks, among other lifeline disruptions across Jamaica (hurricane warnings remain in effect).

The Jamaica Ministry of Tourism has set up several emergency contact points for tourism professionals needing assistance during Hurricane Melissa.

Evacuation sites for tourists have also been designated.

Notice of temporary closure due to approaching Tropical Storm Melissa [Today, October 24th (Friday) at 2:00 PM]

Oct. 25, 2025, 1:25 a.m.
Tropical Storm Melissa is currently off the southern coast of Jamaica and is expected to intensify as it moves slowly north, becoming a major hurricane (Category 4) on Saturday, the 25th, as it approaches Jamaica and moves north. Caution is advised against heavy rain, strong winds, storm surges, and high waves.
