[Warning] Continued drone flight incidents and increased vigilance ahead of the EU Summit in Copenhagen
Sept. 29, 2025, 5 p.m.
Following on from September 22nd and 24th, unidentified drones appeared over several Danish military facilities from the night of September 26th through to the 28th, and the Danish government and NATO are on heightened alert as they are suspecting a hybrid attack.
The Danish capital, Copenhagen, will host the EU Summit and the European Political Communities Summit, attended by leaders of European countries, on October 1st and 2nd. As a result, the Danish government will be strengthening security measures from September 30th to October 2nd, and traffic restrictions will be implemented on major roads in Copenhagen, on Amager Island, and around Copenhagen Airport.
In addition, a ban on civilian drone flights over Danish airspace has been imposed for one week from September 29th to October 3rd, and NATO has stepped up vigilance in the waters around Copenhagen and the Baltic Sea, including the deployment of a German frigate.
Since the possibility of unforeseen circumstances occurring cannot be ruled out, please make an effort to obtain the latest information, such as announcements from Danish government agencies.
In addition, in light of the possibility that cyber attacks and other threats could affect infrastructure, the Danish government is urging citizens to prepare emergency supplies, such as water, food, and cash, for at least three days.

[Warning] Drone flight incident at Danish airport
Sept. 26, 2025, 6:30 p.m.
From the night of September 22nd to the 23rd, multiple unidentified drones flew over Copenhagen Airport, causing the airport to be closed for approximately four hours and many flights to be diverted or canceled. Additionally, from the night of the 24th to the 25th, unidentified drones flew over four airports on the Jutland Peninsula (Aalborg Airport, Esbjerg Airport, Skudstrup Airport, and Sonderborg Airport), causing Aalborg Airport to be temporarily closed.
The Danish government held an emergency joint press conference with police and defense officials on the morning of the 25th, stating that the drone flights at Danish airports are related to a series of worrying incidents occurring across Europe and represent a serious attack on Denmark's critical infrastructure. They have increased their level of vigilance and are working with relevant authorities to deal with the situation.
We cannot rule out the possibility of unforeseen circumstances such as airport closures, flight delays or cancellations due to the occurrence of similar incidents or increased vigilance in the future, so please make an effort to obtain the latest information through announcements and news reports from the Danish government, airports, and other relevant organizations.
