<NY初上陸の日本のドーナツ店に行列!>
The popular fresh donut shop in Japan, "I'm donut?"
April 22nd,
It opened in the heart of New York City in Times Square.
Three years after the idea was first conceived,
After much deliberation, they decided to choose New York, the home of donuts, for their first overseas expansion.
Moreover, tourists from all over the world
Times Square is open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
Moreover, out of the 15 menu items
Nine varieties are exclusive to New York
There's been a line since it opened.
Vegan donuts, matcha, sake, teriyaki, BLT sandwich (bacon lettuce tomato sandwich), etc.
You can enjoy amazing donuts that are both visually and tasting in a simple, wabi-sabi interior and display.
The price is
$4 to $13 each
(Approximately 600 yen to 2000 yen).
Will the popularity of Japanese fresh sweets take hold in New York, the birthplace of trends?
I want to enjoy eating it and support it.
I'm donut?

<Finally! The end of the MetroCard>
The symbol of New York, the yellow subway ticket
MetroCard sales will end at the end of this year
Scheduled to end in 2023 but delayed due to COVID-19
The MetroCard shows no signs of disappearing despite warnings that it will soon be gone.
It's a big vending machine
You can only purchase one at a time (you can't choose the number)
Although it is a large vending machine, it is often unavailable. Currently, only cash is accepted. Currently, no change is given. Currently, cash is not accepted.
The card I just bought can't be used because of a magnetic problem.
Even if there is a problem, the staff at the booths can't do anything and just hand you an envelope and have to file a complaint with the operating company (= travelers have no choice but to accept it).
There were various problems
32 years since its introduction in 1993
It will play a vital role as a symbol of New York.
This yellow design is used for various anniversaries and campaigns.
Tiffany Blue, rapper Biggie, musicals,
etc.
It was a limited edition and I was looking forward to it.
Going forward, the system will be unified into the contactless Tap & Go style "OMNY" that was introduced in 2019.
We live in a convenient age where you can use your credit card or smartphone without prior registration (plastic OMNY cards can also be purchased from vending machines).
For about 50 years since 1953
The token (coin) that was the face of the NY subway
1993: Yellow MetroCard takes over
After 32 years, its role came to an end.
The first token costs 15 cents, currently 2.90 USD per ride
It feels about 20 times older.
A valid metro card
Available until the end of 2026
