Taiwan has various architectures that were built during the Japanese colonial era for 50 years. Today I would like to introduce one of them, [Saiharuen], which remains in Kaohsiung.
Saiharuen, completed in 1940, was built by religious scholar Mitsuru Otani. At that time, Saiharuen was a missionary facility for religionist Otani, a summer villa, and an experimental farm for tropical agriculture. Unlike other Japanese-style architecture, Saiharuen has Western-style structures that can be seen here and there. Karahafu, round windows, and stairs leading to separate rooms, it is a very special building that is neither Western nor Japanese. There are various rooms such as a drawing room, an alcove, a hall, a dining room, a kitchen, and a study, and special construction methods are used, so you can enjoy it just by looking at it.
The current Kaohsiung was officially named Kaohsiung in 1920. To commemorate the 100th anniversary of Kaohsiung's founding and the 80th anniversary of the construction of Saiharuen, restoration work began three years ago and was reopened on November 1st last week. Saiharuen is located in Kaohsiung City, close to the MRT station, and very convenient for transportation, so be sure to visit it when you visit Kaohsiung in the future!

Have you ever visited Jingtong at the end of the Pingxi line?
From around 1937 during the Japanese colonial era, the development of this city began with the development of the mining industry. It is said that the bustle at that time was so called "Jingtong Ginza".
However, with the closure of the mine in 1975, its prosperity has gradually become a thing of the past.
Today, it is a tourist destination where you can see Japanese-style buildings and the remains of the coal mine era, which retain the remnants of those days.
We are conducting a virtual tour from Jingtong for Japanese customers. Please join us.

Beitou, a famous hot spring resort in Taipei.
It is a popular tourist destination because it is easy to reach from Taipei city by MRT and the atmosphere of a hot spring town is like coming to a distant suburb just by stepping in.
The center of Beitou hot springs often refers to Zhongshan Road, Gwangmyeong Road, Shinmin Road, and Izumigen Road around the Beitou Onsen Water Park, which is lined with hot spring inns.
In addition to entering the hot springs, we also recommend sightseeing in attractive spots such as the "Geothermal Valley" where the source springs, the "Beitou Library" which has a beautiful design that blends in with nature, and the "Onsen Museum" where you can now learn about history at public baths. .. If you go a little further, you will find the Beitou Bunkakan, which has beautiful Japanese architecture. In addition to visiting the abundant exhibits, you can also enjoy creative Japanese cuisine here.
Exciting sightseeing in Taipei is good, but be sure to visit Beitou, where time passes slowly.
If you've been to Kaohsiung recently, you've probably seen this strangely shaped building. Do you know what kind of building this is?
This is actually a multi-purpose hall called [Kaohsiung Music Center]. It took five years to build as part of the Kaohsiung Port reuse plan, and is scheduled to finally open in April next year. There will also be a live test run next month.
The building asked the Spanish architectural team to design with the elements of the sea.
The beehive-like building was designed with a wave motif, and the hexagonal building across the river was designed with a coral reef motif.
Both are beautifully lit up at night, and are becoming more popular as night view spots.
Kaohsiung Music Center will literally be held mainly for music-related events, live performances, and concerts.
With the opening of next year, Kaohsiung's port area will be even more lively.
Please come visit us next time you visit Kaohsiung!

The splendid mansions and gorgeous gardens, with towers, Ryotei, and man-made mountain water, have become a popular Chinese classical architecture ideal for photography.
Every Friday and Saturday from September to December, this traditional building is illuminated and beautiful projection mapping is done.
It's a wonderful place just to see the traditional architecture, but this time the light production is very beautiful and spectacular.

Tainan is home to the Waterworks Museum, which has a history of over 100 years.
Created in 1922, it provided clean water to the Tainan area.
After that, with the completion of the Chianan Irrigation Dam, water supply was terminated in 1982.
It was restored and renewed about two years ago, and it is very popular because it has a nice Western-style appearance.
Let's go on a social studies tour together!

For about 50 years after the National Government of the Republic of China moved to Taiwan in 1949, the remote island of Taiwan, Kinmen, was at the forefront of the battle with China, where military forces clash across both banks of the Taiwan Strait.
During the wartime system, Kinmon was jointly prepared by the military and civilians. Military defense works and camouflage facilities such as the anti-aircraft position located in the center of the road that still remains, the vast underground battlefield fort, and the rail fort on the coast tell the history of the former battlefield.
Everyone who visits Kinmen strongly prays for future world peace.
Mid-Autumn in Taiwan is a very important festival except for the Chinese New Year (Chinese New Year in Taiwan).
Taiwanese attach great importance to the Mid-Autumn Festival, and on this day they eat yakiniku (barbecue) with family and friends, and eat mooncakes and pomelo (yuzu).
The round full moon is considered to be a symbol of the family, so the mooncakes with similar shapes are the symbols of peace and pomelo.
Yakiniku was triggered a long time ago (around 1986) by two yakiniku sauce makers that advertised yakiniku sauce extensively during the Mid-Autumn Festival. Supermarkets and other stores have launched barbecue sets accordingly. Since all the family members and relatives get together, it is thought that one of the reasons why it has become established is that it was perfect for everyone to eat yakiniku.
Bread is eaten by sandwiching it with indispensable ingredients.
By the way, in Japan, it is said that the pattern of the moon looks like a rabbit sticking rice cake on the moon, but in Taiwan, it is said that the rabbit makes medicine on the moon.
I hope you can see the beautiful moon.

Wutai, an indigenous village, is located on the mountain north of Pingtung in southern Taiwan.
Wutai is a village where about 12,000 indigenous people, mainly the Rukai, live. The village is not very large, but it is known as a popular tourist destination in Pingtung.
At Kiridai, Aiyu Jelly and Awa Donuts are especially popular.
Aitamako is a traditional Taiwanese dessert that can be eaten anywhere, but it is said that the most suitable environment for the plants that make up Aitamako is a mountain that is about the height of a fog stand, and fresh water taken from the mountain is also available. In addition, the texture is different from that of Aitamako, which I ate in the city. Moreover, even if you choose two types of toppings, it costs about 150 yen, which is a cheap price that you can't think of as a tourist destination.
Another sweet that can only be eaten in indigenous villages is Xiaomi Donut. Generally speaking, the staple food of Taiwanese is rice, but for the indigenous people, the staple food is small rice (foxtail millet). Donuts made from foxtail millet have a more chewy texture than ordinary donuts, and it feels like you are eating mochi. Moreover, the locally fried food is not greasy at all, and the texture of the skin is very good.
There are other tourist destinations such as Taiwan's tallest bridge and stone churches, which are nearly 100 meters high.
Please come and visit us when you go sightseeing in the south.

Kinmen, a remote island in Taiwan, is very close to mainland China and can be seen with the naked eye.
In the past, it became a battlefield as a strategic base, and many war history ruins remain on this island.
Kinmen's architecture is unique, and in addition to the traditional Minnan architecture, there are still many Western-style buildings that combine Chinese and Baroque styles.
These buildings were built in the Qing dynasty by many Kinmon people who went abroad to work and made a fortune to return to their hometowns for their families. I adopted Baroque architecture from Southeast Asia where I work. Then, the Minami architecture "Bankoro", which is a mixture of Chinese and Western styles, was born.
The fine decoration of the building is also wonderful.
Please pay close attention to the details when you stop by.

In Taiwan, which is surrounded by the sea, you can see various marine life. Most fish can only be seen by diving or snorkeling, but whales and dolphins come out of the water for a while to breathe, so you can see them.
If you want to take a whale watching tour, use a company certified by the Taiwan Marine Nursery School and publish it safely so as not to stress the animals!
Have a nice holiday ☺
I'm Finemakers.
The virtual tour is called "Fake travel itinerary" in Chinese.
We look forward to the participation of many customers ☺
