▶ Coronavirus infection status
As of May 31, 2021, a total of 6,908 people were tested positive for the new coronavirus in Vietnam. A total of 4,096 people were infected in the community after April 27, when the fourth wave cluster occurred. The number of people who have recovered is 2,896. The current death toll is 47.
▶ Discovery of new mutant strain in Vietnam
Of the 32 samples of 32 people infected with the new coronavirus, a hybrid mutant that combines both Indian and British mutants was found in 4 of them. Local media have warned that this hybrid mutant is far more infectious in the air than existing strains.

▶ The first vaccination rate exceeds 90% in 6 provinces and cities
According to a report by the Ministry of Health, Vietnam has received a total of 61 million doses of vaccine, of which more than 56 million doses have been distributed to each province and city.
As of October 4, the cumulative number of inoculations in Vietnam was 46,699,510, of which 35,355,593 were reported as the first and 11,613,917 were reported as the second.
Nearly 50% of those aged 18 and over have been vaccinated once, and 16% have completed two vaccinations.
In 6 provinces and cities, including Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi City, the initial vaccination rate exceeds 90%.
The inoculation rate in Ho Chi Minh City is 96% for the first time, 65% for the second time, 97% for the first time and 18% for the second time in Hanoi.
