Do you all know a fixed net?
It is a net that is set up in a certain place to catch fish.

From the history of Taiwan's set nets, we learned in detail about the shape and method of making the set nets at the Meika set fishing grounds, which is a famous fish market in Taiwan's "Uotaki".
"Uotaki" means that the fish caught on the day are dropped from a high place so that the fish fall like a waterfall.
Locals then pick their favorite fish under the waterfall and buy fresh fish. What's more, after accounting, you can have the fish scales removed and the internal organs of the fish treated for an additional fee.
According to the owner, the fixed net does not allow you to choose the type of fish, so we cannot guarantee that any fish will be caught on the day. This is also fun for those who buy it.

皆さん定置網というものをご存知でしょうか？
魚を捕るため、決まった場所に仕掛けている網とのことです。

台湾「魚滝」で有名な魚市場である【明発定置漁場】にて台湾の定置網の歴史から定置網の形と作り方などを詳しく教えてもらいました。
「魚滝」とは当日捕まった魚を高いところから降ろすことで、魚がまるで滝のように落ちるとのことです。
現地の人々がその時に滝の下で好きな魚を選んで、新鮮な魚を買います。しかも、会計した後に別途料金でその場で魚の鱗を落したり
魚の内臓の処理をしてもらえます。
オーナーの話によると、定置網は魚の種類が選べないので、当日どんな魚が捕えるのが保証ができません。これは買う人にとっても一興とのことです。

下記写真の通り、魚を買う人は相変わらず多いですが、新型コロナの影響で現地の人にもそれぞれマスク着用されています。
