Overview of the incident: On Wednesday, September 10th, just after 11 PM, several Japanese men wearing baseball uniforms were walking on a street in downtown Los Angeles (near the intersection of 7th Street and South Grand Avenue) when a car suddenly stopped from behind and several men got out of the car, assaulting the men by grabbing them by the collar and then robbing them of their bags.
