About scams impersonating local Japanese companies

Feb. 7, 2025, 7:11 p.m.
Specifically, when Vietnamese people hoping to find work overseas, such as in Australia, were exchanging information on community pages on social networking sites such as Facebook, they were contacted by suspects posing as Vietnamese employees of local Japanese companies, who then directed them to cleverly forged local Japanese company websites through direct mail from both parties, where they were lulled into a false sense of security by the company introductions on the websites, and then fell victim to money transfers under the pretext of various fees related to job hunting. There are also reports that multiple local Japanese companies have fallen victim to the scam.

Please tell the Vietnamese people around you to be careful of people who try to contact you using sweet talk under the pretext of "Australia" or "job hunting overseas" on community pages on social media sites such as Facebook. In addition, since the logos of local Japanese companies are thought to be elaborately forged, please thoroughly check whether the company websites introduced on the community pages are genuine, and also warn the Vietnamese people around you.
